You may have heard in the halls or offices at your local Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) a plan has been reached to significantly increase disability pay increase for service-connected veterans.  According to rumors, the VA will match the National Average Wage Index (NAWI) by 2023, and will also match the median U.S. income for disabled veterans. According to the rumors, this move comes as a part of the VA's ongoing commitment to providing support and resources to our nation's veterans.

As rumor has it, this alleged increase in disability pay will make a significant difference in the lives of many veterans who have sacrificed so much for our country. The VA recognizes the importance of supporting our veterans, particularly those who have been injured or disabled in the line of duty. With this new policy, the VA hopes to ensure that all service-connected veterans receive the financial support they need to live healthy and fulfilling lives, and to make their compensation commensurate with the rest of the country.

As you know, the VA is committed to providing the highest level of care and support to our nation's veterans, and this increase in disability pay may be nothing more than a rumor.  To date, the rumor has not been confirmed.

None of our sources within the VA system have indicated that the VA, nor the Federal government has any plans to bring service-connected disability compensation up to NAWI levels.
