Q882:  Recently got rated 100% for IU.  Am I now eligible for a retired military ID card?  If so, what is the quickest way to get ID card?

A1:  Your Answer: No, you won't be able to get a "retired" ID card but you can get an ID card. If you'll call the 800-827-1000 and request a "commissary letter" you can make an appointment with the ID card/DEERS section and they will hook you up!  (DS)  6/26/23

A2:  You need to visit with your local DAV rep fast and they will get you the card you deserve.  (GV)  6/26/23

A3:  Disabled veterans evaluated at a combined evaluation of 100% or due to 100% Individual unemployability (IU), with an Honorable discharge, are authorized DoD installation access by being issued a DoD Uniformed Services ID card.  See DD Form 2765.  VA ID department can get you started.  (TJ)  6/26/23

A4:  In your papers it should have told you, you could get an ID to go on any base. Plus, it should have instructions. I did when I get 100% Unemploybility.  (RI)  6/28/23

A5:  Obtaining an ID card for 100% service-connected veterans is a straightforward process. By visiting a VA regional office or medical facility, and providing the necessary documentation, you can receive your ID card and access the benefits and services that you have earned.  (BA)  6/28/23
