A1: I have yet to get any of the shots. Every time they ask I say no. As far as I know you still have the freedom to choose. So I would suggest you go right past her and talk to an administrator. And give them names. (SD) 7/13/22
A2: Sir: Your VA Hospital should have a Veteran's Patient Advocate, and that is the person who would be able to support your complaint and provide you with assistant. If not, your US Senator or House Rep in Washington, DC, who should have offices in your state, often has a Veteran's Administrator who has the ability to research the matter to assist you with a Congressional Inquiry. (DH) 7/13/22
A3: Yes, the VA must comply with government mandates. In many cases, staff can enforce rules they feel are important regardless of actual policy, based on their personal preference or bias. (SV) 7/13/22
A4: No, they can't deny you services because you haven't had the booster shot or any of the shots. The VA employees are required to take them. Of course, you are required to wear masks when being treated. (DS) 7/13/22
A5: Pretty sure the answer to that is yes but you might check with a veterans attorney to be sure. (LC) 7/13/22
A6: That's TOTALLY bogus! I've never, had a shot - at all, and I've never been denied care. (KD) 7/13/22
