Q843:  What do you have to do to get compensation for PTSD?  I applied and told I had to prove it happened in combat. I sent my DD Form 214 and other supporting info but was denied.

A1:  You have to satisfy the three elements to get service connected for PTSD. You have to have a clinical diagnosis of PTSD from an expert qualified to provide the diagnosis. Secondly, there must be credible evidence that your claimed in-service stressor actually happened. Thirdly, your claimed in-service stressor has to be related to your diagnosis of PTSD.  (DS)  3/28/22
