Q839: A supervisor at the VA White House Hotline suggested that I contact my local VA about something along the lines of a 'Virtual Benefits' and saw your newsletter about it. The VA right hand has no idea what the left one is doing and I have no luck following through on this potential benefit. Any direction or information about this?
A1: There are several "virtual benefits" that veterans can take advantage of. When it comes to health care, Virtual Assistant allows Veterans to receive a timely response to basic questions, automated alerts, follow-up messages, appointment reminders and the ability to schedule and reschedule appointments. Some doctors conduct appointments virtually, now. I hope you are enrolled in My HealtheVet. Great online tool for getting messages to your doctor or anyone in VAMC and order refills on your meds, to name a few. The Veteran's Benefits Administration is using Virtual benefits to allow veterans to have informal and formal hearings virtually. You don't have to go to the Regional Office for those hearings, in most cases. (DS) 3/10/22
A2: You will need to describe what you mean by "virtual benefits".
The VA will do "virtual medical appointments" in some situations.
