Your generous gift will go directly to helping veterans and dependents. We simply cannot continue without your help for our community of veterans and dependents who count on us for our Veteran Pantry. Your support will make a lasting impact.
A1: I have used community care several times. Must go through your primary doctor. They order, community care calls you within 24 hours and you set appointment. Never had a problem. Good luck. (JP) 12/6/21
A2: The VA has a list of community providers that help veterans. Call your VA and get a referral. (GF) 12/6/21
A3: If you go to the VA for your healthcare and are unable to get the treatment you need w/in a reasonable amount of time, your PCM will refer you to Community Care who will set you up w/ someone outside the VA. If you are going to get an MRI on your own, then you will more than likely be responsible for the payment. If you have a bonified emergency, go to the nearest emergency room to get treated and, if conscious, tell them you are VA only and they will notify the VA. If you have an emergency and have time and are able you can call the VA first, then they may tell you to go to the nearest emergency room and will cover the payment. If my life is in danger, I would get the emergency medical care I need and deal with the VA later. (DS) 12/6/21
A4: You can request Community Care if the VA can't get you in within 30 days. Request it through your PCD st the VA Clinic you go to. (ML) 12/6/21
A5: Don't do this on your own. I would contact the Community outsourcing at your local VA hospital and have them to put in a referral to an office that can do MRI, like a Radiology company that is set up for this type of examination. (GR) 12/29/21
