A1: I hope you are working with an accredited service officer. They have ways of putting bugs in the VA's ear when claims fall by the wayside. Often times, the VA is waiting on other organizations to complete their part of the claim, such as, the NPRC to provide the veteran's STRs and personnel file. NPRC was not working for over a year due to COVID. There are three ways of getting your claim expedited. You have a terminal illness (usually 6 months or less), advanced age of 85 or older, or severe financial hardship. All of these must be submitted to the VA so they can expedite your claim. You need proof of any of the three reasons you are asking to have your claim expedited for. (DS) 8/18/21
A2: Not really. Your claim MIGHT have been resolved by now if not for the pandemic. Many agencies were closed, working from home or extremely limited functions. However, you might call your representative and follow up on it.. Alas, there is no hurrying up the VA. (KD) 8/18/21
