Q738:  I am 100% service-connected.  One of my disabilities is depression.  Thanks to my awesome therapist I am no longer depressed like I used to be.  I haven’t worked in over a decade.  I’m about to start a job as a night time stocker.  Once I start my new job and inform my VSO I’m working, what happens next?  Will the VA reduce my compensation pay right away?  If I get depressed again and can’t work what happens then?

If you have a question about benefits, compensation, pension or VA related issues please submit here

A1:  It depends if you are TDIU or outright 100% SC. If you are TDIU you can work some but cannot make more than the national poverty level and you must report all your income, from whom and when, to the VA. If you've gotten better, then the VA can reduce you and if you get worse, you can apply for increase.  (DS)  6/16/21
