Q714:  This is a question on my home loan.  I fell behind in my mortgage payment and now I am in a forbearance program.  How can I get my VA loan to be put on the back in of my mortgage so I can get it back to even and not feel as though I will lose my house?

A1:   You need to contact the VAs Home Loan representative. It is possible due to mitigating circumstances. I hope you have not spent your VA compensation on other situations that are not veteran related. You could end up in having a Fiduciary appointed to manage your compensation. Remember your VA compensation is for your welfare and not for your relatives, friends or grown children's benefit or assistance. I have seen to many veterans get caught up in unscrupulous abuse by grown children and caretakers.  (GH)  5/16/21

A2:  You probably have this phone # but, in the event you don't, the experts on VA backed home loans is 877-827-3702. I am not an expert on this issue but not sure how you would lose the VA backed home loan. My understanding is that once you catch back up on your mortgage payments, you should be good to go. If your house is repossessed, then the VA is responsible to pay it off to your lender. Good luck getting back on track.  (DS)  5/17/21
