A1: I certainly hope you are doing better now. To see if you can be reimbursed for your emergency room care, refer to the VA's Community Care website: https://www.va.gov/COMMUNITYCARE/programs/veterans/Emergency_Care.asp#claim
The VA has requirements that must be met in order to be reimbursed and those are listed on their website as well as what to do to get reimbursed. Emergency treatment for Service Connected and Non Service Connected have different stipulations. You can also contact your Community Care department at your nearest VAMC. (DS) 4/1/21
A2: I have been told that if you get any out side service, you have to contact the VA and let them know asap there is a time limit of like 3 or 4 days from when you where seen. So call your clinic and ask about it. They should be able to help. I am having an issue right now with a bill I get from a lab that the va sent me through tri-west at the time and now its Optim that is getting my bill and they have no record of it. Was told that they would take care of it and ignore any further bill from them. hope this helps. (DS) 4/14/21
