A1:  Your chances go up once you receive IU. My suggestions are these:

1. Try to get 100% P&T and forget IU.

2. Open an account with SSA and see if you have the quarters to qualify for SSDI.  (TB)  3/30/21

A2:  You might have to ask a "bookie" if you are asking about "odds." Joking aside, if you are too disabled to work, I would recommend filing for SSDI.  If you are already 65, then it is a moot point. Once you reach 65 and are drawing SSDI, you are reverted to regular SS.  The benefit of drawing SSDI before you reach the age of 65 is that SS pays you at the 65 age regardless of how young you are. SS considers all your disabilities when you file for SSDI. The VA only considers your service connected disabilities when determining IU.  (DS)  3/30/21

A3:  Get the IU prior to filing with SS.  I Filed prior to getting IU and was denied twice.  As soon as I was awarded IU, SS followed with SSDI.  (BT)  3/30/21

A4:  File for ss disability NOW.  (TC)  3/30/21
