A1: Unfortunately, the VA doesn't let you make reservations to be buried in a National Cemetery. What you must do is make the location of your DD-214s known to the people handling your funeral and also what your desires are. Then let them know to pass this information to the funeral director. You can make the process even easier by completing a VA Form 40-10007, APPLICATION FOR PRE-NEED DETERMINATION OF
ELIGIBILITY FOR BURIAL IN A VA NATIONAL CEMETERY, and either mail it to National Cemetery Scheduling Office, P.O. Box 510543, St. Louis, MO 63151 or fax to: (855) 840-8299. If your spouse or helpless or dependent child predisposes you, then they can be placed in the National Cemetery. (DS) 1/28/21
A2: I would contact the National Cemetery that you would like to be laid to rest in and make the necessary arrangements and have it in writing so there is no dispute when that time comes. (GR) 1/28/21
A3: There should be a patient avaccade. And you can ask your VA doctor too. (EA) 1/28/21
