A1:  Before I would take anyone's word for this in your letter there is a phone number to call and you can get first hand information from a licensed agent who can give you all the details.  (GR)  1/22/21

A2:  Yes for you, a $10,000.00 policy but you have to enroll within 2 years of your rating decision. Its called S-DVI or Service-Disabled Veterans Insurance. Google SDVI_Elig document. Its a one page easy breezy eligability fact sheet. Good Luck and God Bless!  (RS)  1/22/21

A3:  Yes.  (DD)  1/22/21

A4:  Possibly, you can get Service Disabled Veterans Life Insurance (S-DVI). You have had to receive a brand new rating and apply for the insurance w/in two years of receiving a brand new disability rating. If you get an upgrade to an existing disability, or be granted TDIU, then you would not be eligible for S-DVI. You may also be able to get a waiver of your premiums, just for the basic S-DVI, if you apply for the waiver if totally disabled. You have to apply before you turn 65. There are some other nuances, but apply at any rate as soon as you can. VA Form 29-357 is for applying for the waiver of premiums.  (DS)  1/22/21
