Q647:  I am a Gulf War veteran who spent time in Saudi Arabia during Operation Vigilant Warrior.  When I was there I was exposed to lots of chemicals and none of them I remember.  I just remember training in the airborne chemicals and working in the chemicals every day.  I have never smoked or did drugs, but now I have serious lung problems.  I have spots all over my lungs, and I experience lung pain every day.  VA has no idea what’s wrong.  Civilian doctors don’t know either.  Could this be Gulf War Syndrome?  If so, how do I get proof?

A1:  Yes, I would file for your disabilities as Undiagnosed Gulf War illnesses. Many times a veteran files under Undiagnosed Gulf War illnesses but he has a diagnosis from a doctor. Once you have a diagnosis, it is no longer undiagnosed. At any rate, file.  (DS)  1/20/21

A2:  Your military records will show that you were there and this is more than likely caused by the burn pits. File a 21-526ez and list lung condition due. To burn pits.  (GR)  1/20/21
