Q613:  I had cataract surgery at RRMC in Rutland, VT. I recently received a bill from some outfit in Georgia for $1992 dollars for anesthesia, this was through the VA, what's the scoop on this this travesty? My previous eye did not have this. Did the VA change its policy on Korea vets?

A1:  Take the bill to your local VSO or DAV Office. They know how to handle these things. It was obviously a mistake on the part of the company that sent you the bill. Better to let VSO or DAV take care of it for you.  (RC)  12/23/20

       

A2:  All copays for veterans is handled through the medical billing is in Georgia. If you are not 50% VA disability you have copays at the VA. Contact the VA in Georgia and they will give you the explanation.  (GR)  12/23/20

      

A3:  You will need to contact Community Care at your local VA that referred you outside to have your surgery. You also need to contact the folks that sent you the bill. Often times they will bill you and the VA for the care. Don't get upset over it and worry.
