A4:  Hearing loss is one of the only "objectively" rated disabilities.  The percentage is determined by the results of your hearing test when you claimed hearing loss. Without seeing your file, I am not able to tell you why they rated one ear vise both ears. If you have tinnitus and, it's been going on since the Navy, they can service connect you for the tinnitus. The only rating for tinnitus is 10% whether or not you have it in one ear or both ears. Hearing loss and tinnitus are rated separately as the origination of each disability is different. Tinnitus is normally caused by an acoustical trauma, ie., and explosion or cannon fire, etc.  (DS)  11/20/20
