Q549:  I am rated at 90%. I have had partial knee replacement and back fusion. I still have issues with both. And I am presently in the Dr. care for my back again. We live in a split so I have to walk up/down stairs every day. I have fallen going down them once and have difficulty all the time. We want to move into a single level home. Is there any VA benefit that can help with the costs?

A1:   I would file 21-526ez and request and upgrade for your back and knee condition. Have your PCP put in a request to Prothesis to see what accommodations could be made to your present residence. You could sell your current resident and purchase another home using VA loan process.  (GR)  10/23/10

A2:  You need to contact the VSO who has your POA. If not contact an Accredited VSO from the VFW, Am Legion, Am Vets or DAV. Take your VA paperwork and they will get you answers to your questions. Get someone who knows.  (GH)  10/25/20
