Q546: I haven’t had a means test in a long time, how often will the VA need a means test completed?
If you have a question about benefits, compensation, pension or VA related issues please submit here.
Use Form Below To Respond
A1: The VA will give you a means test normally when they learn that there is a possibility that you've started earning more than was previously stated. Their schedule, not ours. (TB) 10/20/20
A2: VA does not do means testing anymore. The IRS provides that information to the V.A. and from that information the V.A. will contact you if need be. (GR) 10/20/20
A3: The VA no longer performs a Means test if you are in their system. They use the IRA and Social Security to pull your financial history. (RJ) 10/20/20
A4: You did not state who needed the means test. Was it the VA regarding a VA Pension or VA Health Care regarding co-pay or individual health care. If you get VA Compensation which is awarded for a disease or injury while in service - No Means Test is ever required. I recommend you see an Accredited VSO with the VFW, DAV, Am, Am Legion or other Veterans Service Organization and they will be able to answer your question. Take with you the VA letter that has generated your question. (GH) 10/21/20
