Q536: I have a muscle disease. I have been to many doctors in the VA, but they don't know what is causing the problem with my muscles. It seems to me that I read in your news letters about a rare disease being allowed for disability compensation. Is this true? What do I have to do to be considered?
If you have a question about benefits, compensation, pension or VA related issues please submit here.

A1: I recommend that you contact an Accredited VSO with Am Vets, Am Legion, VFW, DAV or another Veterans Service Organization. Take a copy of your DD-214, your medical records rom the military and/or private medical records. The VSO will assist you in filing a claim or assisting you in your medical problems by asking the right questions at the VA. Also bring copies of the references you mentioned regarding this rare disease. Be ready to tell wat event in the military caused this condition, when was the onset, where it happened and where are you being treated. (GH) 10/14/20
