A1: On the Health Care. Take a copy of your Award letter to your nearest VA clinic and fill out the VA Form 10-10. If your are not receiving health care you will be enrolled. If you are they will make you a new VA Health Care Card stating Service Connected. Regarding compensation. Contact an Accredited VSO with the DAV, VFW, Am Legion or Am Vets. Take a copy of your last VA award letter, marriage license and DD-214. If your award is above 30% VA will pay you with a dependent. No back pay.
A2: The VA does not have any specific card the shows you are service connected. The only card they issue is the VA card for medical care. That card has your picture on it and if service connected it will say that on the card. Toget that you have to go to the VA hospital with your DD 214 and the letter the VA sent you showing what your service connected for and the percentage. To add your spouse to your VA compensation you have to be service connected and give a copy ofyour marriage license to the VA. If you are service connected 30% or more your spouse will be added to your award and you will receive additional money for them. (JK) 10/12/20
