Q532: My wife has dementia. She was stationed in Ft McClellan, Alabama twice. Ft McClellan has a history of chemical contamination but I can't find a link between it and her dementia. If someone can steer me to one then I could put in a claim for her.
If you have a question about benefits, compensation, pension or VA related issues please submit here.

A1: Your first mistake is that you attempt to file a claim for her unless you are a trained VSO? Take your wife and her DD-214 to an Accredited Service Officer with the VFW, DAV, Am Legion or AmVets. The VSO will assist her in filing a claim. (GH) 10/12/20
A2: You need to know and find out what she was exposed to first. That is the way to find out. You can't just guess at what she was around and what caused her condition. (CC) 10/21/20
