Q489:  I have a medical condition that keeps me from mowing my lawn.  My ENT doctors have stated that I need to stop cutting my lawn, because of infections and being allergic to grass. I had cancer of the sinus and several sinus surgeries which I deal with sinus infections a lot. Is there a grant through the VA I can get to help with this issue?

A1:  No, there are no grants for lawn care, regardless of the medical condition.  (RJ)  7/31/20

A2:  Have you filed for compensation?  Were the sinuses treated while you were on active or reserve duty?  Are you taking antibiotics two to three times a year even when you don't mow the yard?  You may be eligible for compensation-10%-30% if you were treated in the military for sinus problems. It is along road fot approval. Hang in there.  (BK)  8/1/20

A3:  I am a Commander of a DAV Chapter in Oklahoma. You might check with a local DAV or other service group in your area and seek help from them.  (JE)  8/1/20
