A1:  Get with an accredited VSO from the DAV, VFW, Am Legion, AmVets or another Service Organization. First they do not charge the veteran. Take all of your correspondence from the VA and they will explain ever decision that has or has not been made. Do not listen to stockade lawyers who always seem to know all of the answers. A Congressional Office is very helpful in getting your military medical records and Official Military Personnel Files. VA employees do not get reimbursed for turning down a claim. They have rules to follow in working your claim. Actually they try and help you. However never deal direct with a VA DRO. Always have your VSO deal with the VA. Do not get on Ebenefits and start adding to or taking away from your claim. That is your VSO's job.  (GH)  7/11/20

A2:  Contact your congressman and hire a lawyer. Ask the American Legion and Disabled Veterans. See what the actions are going to be.  (TP)  7/11/20

A3:  I honestly believe the staff are compensated when they deny veterans their claim. It's a well kept secret that needs investigating and exposed.  (RR)  7/12/20

A4:  The simple answer is NO, VA employees are not compensated for negative claims.  However, the VA often has people who are working claims who are not adequately trained.  I would HIGHLY suggest that you use a well trained and respected VSO to assist you in filing claims. Please note, a well trained VSO can often do more than a lawyer and they will not take a dime of your money.  (RJ)  7/13/20
