Q449:  In 1990 I was rated at 100% then some time later after requesting coverage for other problems, I received a letter telling me I was now rated at 90%, but would continue getting the disability payment of 100% with no explanation. My question is, will my wife get any money from the VA if I die before her & at what % if any.  2) How would I get the rate increased back to the 100% now?

A1:  In your case,I think I would like an explication this doesn't seem right. You are at 90% but paid at 100%. Maybe 10% is IU. Check with VSO.  (MH)  7/5/20

A2:  Contact an Accredited VSO with DAV, VFW, AmVets or American Legion. I recommend you read the VA award letter and the VA decision letter. Bring both to a VSO. They will explain if you do not understand. Yes your wife will get an award when you die to include burial costs, etc.  (GH)  7/5/20
