Q94:  I was wondering if my mother would qualify for the wartime pension?  She is the surviving spouse of my father whose was a retired officer in WWII.   She is entering an assisted living facility soon. She has been living alone until now.

A1:  Yes she does if she hasn't remarried... Contact David Lebold @ 1-561-212-7299. He will help you get what they VA calls Aid & Attendance Pension for WWII Veterans.  (TD)  8/9/18

A2:   I suggest you contact your nearest DAV service officer. Your mother may qualify for your father's benefits since she hasn't remarried. I would not call the Lebold person. Sounds like a lawyer that may take the greater portion of her money. There is no such thing as an Aid and Attendance pension. Be careful who you get advice from. There is a widows pension and since she is going into an assisted living facility, she may qualify for Aid and Attendance if she needs help with the functions of daily living such as feeding bathing and dressing.  (AP)  8/14/18
