Q49: I am having constant shoulder and neck pain. Now my Dr. says that I need a full shoulder replacement. Can I claim disability because I was in the paratroopers and made numerous parachute jumps with full combat gear? While on Okinawa we jumped on an asphalt runway named Yomitan air strip. I also jumped from helicopters.

A1: You would still have to provide a nexus which connects your shoulder disability to your service. For example did you suffer an documented shoulder injury on a jump while on active duty? Did you seek medical attention while on active duty for you shoulder? If you did either of these than you may have a case to be awarded compensation. (LG) 2/28/20
