Q278:  I have had a disability rating since the 1990's of 10%. I saw on your site that the compensation rate for 2019 with a 10% Disability Rating is $140.05. How do I claim that compensation?

A1:  If it's been since 1990 that you were rated, I would definitely find a service officer (ideally from the DAV) and work to see if you might qualify for a higher rating. They can also help you get the current pay you're entitled to.  (KD)  11/3/19

    

A2:  I would suggest you go to your local Veteran Regional Center so they can process it for you.  (RC)  11/3/19

   

A3:  See your nearest VSO (Veterans Service Office) and put in your claim. Hope they could assist you with your problem.  (RLR)  11/3/19

     

A4:  If you have had a 10% disability since 1990 you are receiving it unless you are a retired military then it is just slide over from your retirement. You could submit a 21-526ez for an increase in your disability.  (GR)  11/3/19
