Q272:  I've been turned down by the VA for Sleep Apnea. Mine is severe obstructive. I retired in February 1997 and at that time, they were not giving Sleep Studies as they are now. About 1 1/2 Year after I retired, I was diagnosed with severe Obstructive Sleep Apnea which the VA turned me down for. Also, on my retirement Physical from the VA, I was diagnosed with High Blood pressure and was given medication by the VA Doctor. For some reason, they can't find my physical copy which states that I have blood pressure. I've been on blood pressure meds since. Both items were denied me by the VA. What else can I do? It took me almost 14 years to start getting disability benefits from the VA after I fought all that time.
