Q221: I retired June of 2017 at the age of 62. I was able to do this thinking I could get VA health care so after I retired I applied for VA health care I and was told I MADE TO MUCH MONEY ALTHOUGH I had no income until December of that year. After appealing it I was finally approved but I had heart trouble in November. I called the VA hospital in Manchester New Hampshire to see if I could go there three times and never got a response finally had to go to the emergency room where I needed to have a stent put in with no insurance and ended up with fifty thousand dollars in medical bills which I can’t pay and being harassed for the last year for the money. I wrote a letter to the main VA office and they forwarded it to Manchester VA and I haven't heard anything since. I can’t sleep and worry every day about these bills. Is there anything I can do? I have had insurance my whole life since I joined the Marine Corps when I was 17 and only been in the hospital once and as luck would have it, it was the only time I didn't have insurance. Please help. Thank you.
