Q140: What happen to "Transparency?" I filed an NOD appeal and I wanted to check on its current status. The resource that I would go to check in was the website provided, which is "Vets.gov." Every time I check on this website it does not display any update on my current NOD appeal, I receive emails saying to go to this website if you want an update on appeals. I called the 1-800-827-1000 and the representatives told me that the only way to know any update on appeals is by calling them. Is this true and what happen to "Transparency?"
If you have a question about benefits, compensation, pension or VA related issues please submit here.

A1: Simple... been there. That means there's been no activity on it is waiting to be called up at the decision level, otherwise known as raters. No movement at that time. Call 1800 827-1000. (DS) 9/21/18
A2: It would be in your best interest to talk to your local Veteran Service Officer (VSO), as he/she will have the latest information and can answer any questions you have about your issue. (RC) 9/21/18
A3: Vets.gov is a website run by an outside agency. The VA has no obligation to provide them any information or to keep it updated. The VA website is ebenefits, and the VA does not keep it updated. Even if you call the VA 800 number, in most cases, you will not get the information you are looking for. They will try to assist you, but in most cases are not very helpful. (AP) 9/22/18
