A1: Write to your congressman should not take 5 years at the most 2 1/2 years. If you write to your congressman you should get a response in about a month maybe less by the congressman's office or a call by the VA. Good Luck!!! (JRM) 9/20/18
A2: I would call that office and I would call your local DAV office and speak to a rep about it. If you give the DAV power of attorney on your behalf , they can look into it! They are a great help, I used them and got great results! Good luck. (AL) 9/20/18
A3: I hate to say it, but there is little chance that your claim is still at a Regional Office for 5 years. If at the most, it should have been to the BVA and then possibly remanded back to the RO for further development. But 5 years? I would make sure to get a representative who can help you, DAV, AL, VFW, local state agency or a County Service Officer if your state has one. Someone needs to look into the computer and reach out to someone at the RO. Do it soon, in case the decision was made and you just missed the notification. (LC) 9/20/18
