A1:  Sensineural Hearing loss is rated based on auditory exam results of how much you hear at specific tones. High tone hearing loss doesn't affect your employability unless loss is noted significantly in the low tones as well (where speech fits under- hence why it would affect employment and quality of life more). Just food for thought. It is likely if you haven't already, that you can get connection with ringing in the ears based on your hazardous risk based on job duty. Look into service connection for Tinnitis if you haven't already.  (DC)  9/11/18

A2:   I have a hearing loss from being around tanks in the early 70"s. Luckily, hearing tests at discharge showed a distinct loss of hearing from the physical I had upon induction. Did you have hearing tests as part of your physical for both induction and discharge? If so, get copies of your records. They used to be kept in St. Louis.  (AH)  9/25/18

A3:  I was field artillery for 22 years and came in the us army Sept 1974 and the hearing protection we were given a pair of ear plugs which wasn't good enough for a soldiers in the field. And I have taken hearing test in the past the doctor results were for me to have hearings aids and the VA has always tap dance with my hearing all I have 10%.  (LR)  12/16/18
