A1:  Not sure myself but did you file your claim thru a VSO (Veterans Service Organization such as DAV, American Legion, VFW) if not go see them. Write to your congressman and get them involved as well to get an answer of why your not in the system. Did you go to the VA and fill out eligibility papers at the Eligibility Office and if so you should be in the system. Did you write to your military where you were stationed and the VSO has the locations those records are kept to get a copy of them to prove your served. With the congressman should take about one month to get a response from the VA of why you are not in the system. Most likely you may have ran some claims but missed the basics first. If they can not find it get a copy of your paperwork and always save anything forever for the VA uses that excuse and you can put it right in front of them a copy and ask them to explain why they don't have it. Most likely when you show you have all your records that they will say why are you submitting this we already have it. It is a catch 22 game they play to get veterans to give up. Don't give up just get back to proving you do exist and never never let them stop you for they will try.  (JM)  8/17/18

A2:  Once you get your bennies, you think you're all set....No, you have to keep it moving.  I was rated T and P 1971, thought that was it, got another 70% this year.  K. I . M people.  GO GET THAT I D CARD.  (ACM)  8/17/18

A3:  I don't know what that means either but they used to tell me the exact same thing before I got my military medical/treatment records forwarded to me by an Army vet that worked in the VA via the computer because everytime I called or wrote to the records dept in St. Louis they couldn't find them & when I tried to file a claim with the VA they would say that I wasn't in the system.  Now that I filed those records & awarded compensation, I guess I'm in the system.   If u find out what that means I along with countless others would like to know what it means too!  (DM)  8/18/18

A4:  I think we have a misconception here. The only people entitled to a Military ID are those currently on Active Duty, in the Reserves or National Guard, or Retired from the military. All such persons are in the Defense Department "system".  Being a 100% T&P Disabled Veteran does not entitle you to a Military ID.  You are now eligible for access to the Commissary and Exchange on-base, among other things, but you don't need a Military ID for that, only your VA Disability Rating letter and DD-214.  (DJ)  6/8/21
